These dried stems of Sarracenia make a very interesting display, reminiscent of Calla Lilies. The greenish coloration of stems fades fairly quickly in bright light, but the lacy veins remain apparent. The first picture shows a set of ten stems. The second picture shows 60-70 stems displayed with Banana Stems.
This variety of Sarracenia is native to the southern United States. The modified leaves offered here, from which the common name of Pitcher Plant derives, are used to capture insects.
